Funding Agencies
We are strengthening the national research and innovation funding agencies in Africa. We have partnered with the agencies to:
- Undertake a review of the policy and institutional landscape of the research and innovation funding ecosystem.
- Conduct comprehensive stakeholder mapping and analyses of the research and innovation funding ecosystem in participating countries.
- Conduct needs assessments for participating countries.
- Co-development and co-design of training programmes based on the identified needs of each SGC in participating countries.
- Delivery of training programmes in need areas to each of the SGCs.
- Customized technical support to SGCs and stakeholders for establishing councils in Ghana, Nigeria, and Sierra Leone.
- High-level policy and stakeholder dialogue and workshops for the establishment of new research and innovation funding agencies in Ghana, Nigeria, and Sierra Leone.
- Learning and benchmarking visits organized to successful and well-performing SGCs in Africa.
