Annual Regional Meeting
The Annual Regional Meetings (ARMs) present a unique opportunity for the SGCI to:
- Support and strengthen the voices and views of participating SGCs, especially the host SGC
- Contribute to key STI policy debates at regional levels, in support of the regional economic communities (RECs:
- Contribute to the implementation of STISA-2024
- Provide a platform for sharing of information, experiences and lessons amongst SGCs, and with other STI system actors, including the RECs
- Showcase the SGCI to government, academia, private sector and other key stakeholders within the country hosting the meetings

Annual Forum and GRC Africa Regional Consultative Meeting
Since 2015, the African SGCs have hosted an annual series of high-level dialogues and engagements to strengthen partnerships, share experiences and practices on a range of emerging topics, and network amongst themselves and with other science system actors within and outside the African Continent. Chief among this annual series of events are the SGCI Annual Forum, and the GRC Africa Regional Consultative Meeting. The SGCI and GRC also use this occasion to implement several value-adding engagements. Collectively, this annual African science granting councils week leverages partnerships and existing networks to catalyse conversations and actions that support the strategic implementation of SGC mandates, and regional and international cooperation.
