O Conselho Nacional para a Ci\u00eancia e Tecnologia do Uganda<\/a> (UNCST) acolheu a 2025\u00aa confer\u00eancia anual de divulga\u00e7\u00e3o da investiga\u00e7\u00e3o em parceria com a Rede de Investigadores em In\u00edcio de Carreira e em Meio de Carreira em \u00c1frica, NEMRA<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n

A confer\u00eancia teve lugar nos dias 1 e 2 de julho no Audit\u00f3rio Yusuf Lule CTF, na Universidade de Makerere, no Uganda.<\/p>\n\n

O evento de dois dias reuniu estudantes de p\u00f3s-gradua\u00e7\u00e3o, investigadores em in\u00edcio de carreira e acad\u00e9micos experientes para partilharem resultados, promoverem a colabora\u00e7\u00e3o e impulsionarem uma agenda de investiga\u00e7\u00e3o partilhada, enraizada nas prioridades de desenvolvimento de \u00c1frica.<\/p>\n\n

De acordo com Martin Ongol, secret\u00e1rio executivo da UNCST, a confer\u00eancia faz parte de um esfor\u00e7o mais vasto para ligar a investiga\u00e7\u00e3o ao impacto no mundo real.<\/p>\n\n

No seu discurso, referiu a import\u00e2ncia de traduzir a investiga\u00e7\u00e3o e as ideias em servi\u00e7os, produtos e solu\u00e7\u00f5es que resolvam os desafios societais e promovam o crescimento econ\u00f3mico e a transforma\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n\n

“H\u00e1 um grande esfor\u00e7o para garantir que o conhecimento gerado seja transformado em resultados produtivos transformadores. Estamos numa economia baseada no conhecimento”, afirmou.<\/p>\n\n

Na confer\u00eancia, Augustus Nuwagaba, o vice-governador do Banco do Uganda, encorajou os investigadores a patentearem as suas inova\u00e7\u00f5es para atrair investidores a n\u00edvel mundial e impulsionar o crescimento econ\u00f3mico.<\/p>\n\n

A confer\u00eancia incluiu a apresenta\u00e7\u00e3o de comunica\u00e7\u00f5es, pain\u00e9is de discuss\u00e3o e oportunidades de estabelecimento de contactos.<\/p>\n\n

A Iniciativa dos Conselhos de Concess\u00e3o de Apoio Cient\u00edfico (SGCI) apoia ecossistemas de investiga\u00e7\u00e3o que capacitam os talentos locais e impulsionam a inova\u00e7\u00e3o em \u00c1frica, bem como confer\u00eancias que divulgam resultados de investiga\u00e7\u00e3o como esta.<\/p>\n\n

A UNCST, um parceiro-chave da SGCI, desempenha um papel fundamental no panorama do financiamento da investiga\u00e7\u00e3o no Uganda, refor\u00e7ando as pol\u00edticas, apoiando os investigadores em in\u00edcio de carreira e promovendo a utiliza\u00e7\u00e3o de provas na tomada de decis\u00f5es.<\/p>\n\n

Esta confer\u00eancia reflecte tamb\u00e9m a miss\u00e3o mais alargada da SGCI de capacitar os sistemas cient\u00edficos nacionais, promover a elabora\u00e7\u00e3o de pol\u00edticas baseadas em dados concretos e garantir que a investiga\u00e7\u00e3o africana responde aos desafios e oportunidades locais.<\/p>\n\n

Como membro do SGCI, a UNCST beneficiou de uma maior capacidade de gest\u00e3o das bolsas de investiga\u00e7\u00e3o e de supervis\u00e3o.<\/p>\n\n

A SGCI permitiu \u00e0 UNCST lan\u00e7ar convites \u00e0 apresenta\u00e7\u00e3o de propostas de investiga\u00e7\u00e3o competitivas que se alinham com o Plano de Desenvolvimento Nacional e os Objectivos de Desenvolvimento Sustent\u00e1vel do Uganda.<\/p>\n\n

O financiamento da SGCI apoia projectos de investiga\u00e7\u00e3o que traduzem os resultados em solu\u00e7\u00f5es reais.<\/p>\n\n

Estes projectos centram-se em \u00e1reas que refor\u00e7am as parcerias p\u00fablico-privadas, em particular na industrializa\u00e7\u00e3o e nas cadeias de valor da ind\u00fastria transformadora.<\/p>\n\n

Isto garante que a investiga\u00e7\u00e3o contribui diretamente para o progresso social e a resili\u00eancia econ\u00f3mica.<\/p>\n\n
