{"id":18114,"date":"2023-04-06T14:14:05","date_gmt":"2023-04-06T13:14:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sgciafrica.org\/?p=18114"},"modified":"2026-02-11T14:07:32","modified_gmt":"2026-02-11T14:07:32","slug":"nelson-mandela-e-oliver-tambo-se-unem-no-nm-aist","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sgciafrica.org\/pt\/nelson-mandela-e-oliver-tambo-se-unem-no-nm-aist\/","title":{"rendered":"Nelson Mandela e Oliver Tambo unem-se no NM-AIST"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Arusha, na Tanz\u00e2nia, det\u00e9m a reputa\u00e7\u00e3o de ser a Genebra de \u00c1frica pelo seu papel cr\u00edtico como anfitri\u00e3 da Comunidade da \u00c1frica Oriental e do Tribunal Penal Internacional para o Ruanda. \u00c9 tamb\u00e9m a cidade que acolhe o Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST). <\/p>\n\n<p>Parte de uma rede de institui\u00e7\u00f5es pan-africanas de ci\u00eancia e tecnologia, e com foco na forma\u00e7\u00e3o de p\u00f3s-gradua\u00e7\u00e3o e p\u00f3s-doutoramento, bem como na investiga\u00e7\u00e3o, estas institui\u00e7\u00f5es foram uma ideia original de Nelson Mandela. Mandela visualizou que a trajet\u00f3ria de desenvolvimento do continente poderia ser profundamente influenciada por um esfor\u00e7o concertado para desenvolver a pr\u00f3xima gera\u00e7\u00e3o de cientistas e engenheiros, e atrav\u00e9s do investimento na investiga\u00e7\u00e3o. <\/p>\n\n<p>Atualmente, o NM-AIST acolhe a C\u00e1tedra de Investiga\u00e7\u00e3o O.R. Tambo Africa sobre a aplica\u00e7\u00e3o da nanotecnologia na administra\u00e7\u00e3o de f\u00e1rmacos antimal\u00e1ricos, onde a conceituada investigadora, Prof.\u00aa Hulda Swai, \u00e9 a titular da c\u00e1tedra.<\/p>\n\n<p>Trabalhando com a Comiss\u00e3o Nacional da UNESCO na Tanz\u00e2nia e com o Ifakara Health Institute (IHI), esta c\u00e1tedra de investiga\u00e7\u00e3o est\u00e1 a investir na descoberta de medicamentos fitoter\u00e1picos contra a mal\u00e1ria. A c\u00e1tedra planeia acolher um polo regional de nanotecnologia e apoiar a comercializa\u00e7\u00e3o de medicamentos contra a mal\u00e1ria. Com uma vasta rede de universidades e setores privados dentro e fora do continente, a c\u00e1tedra est\u00e1 a utilizar esta rede para apoiar o acesso a infraestruturas e a co-supervis\u00e3o de estudantes. A c\u00e1tedra est\u00e1 localizada no Africa Centre for Research, Agricultural Advancement, Teaching Excellence and Sustainability (CREATES), que \u00e9 liderado pela Prof.\u00aa Swai.   <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sgciafrica.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/nm.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sgciafrica.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/nm.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5434\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n<p><em>A Iniciativa de C\u00e1tedras de Investiga\u00e7\u00e3o O.R. Tambo Africa (ORTARChI) combina objetivos pol\u00edticos, de desenvolvimento e de ensino superior. Visa homenagear uma figura de destaque no desenvolvimento da unidade africana; ter um impacto catalisador no desenvolvimento de infraestruturas de investiga\u00e7\u00e3o nos pa\u00edses benefici\u00e1rios; e contribuir para a produ\u00e7\u00e3o de conhecimento e compet\u00eancias de alto n\u00edvel em alinhamento com a Agenda 2063 da UA e a STISA 2024. Foram atribu\u00eddas nove (9) C\u00e1tedras de Investiga\u00e7\u00e3o O.R. Tambo Africa em seis pa\u00edses, nomeadamente Botsuana, Burquina Faso, Gana, Mo\u00e7ambique, Tanz\u00e2nia e Z\u00e2mbia. A NRF e o Departamento de Ci\u00eancia e Inova\u00e7\u00e3o (DSI) da \u00c1frica do Sul, juntamente com os parceiros principais, a Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Oliver e Adelaide Tambo e o Centro Internacional de Investiga\u00e7\u00e3o para o Desenvolvimento (IDRC) do Canad\u00e1, estabeleceram parcerias com ag\u00eancias cong\u00e9neres da NRF nos seis pa\u00edses e com as universidades para implementar a iniciativa.   <\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Arusha, na Tanz\u00e2nia, det\u00e9m a reputa\u00e7\u00e3o de ser a Genebra de \u00c1frica pelo seu papel cr\u00edtico como anfitri\u00e3 da Comunidade da \u00c1frica Oriental e do Tribunal Penal Internacional para o Ruanda. \u00c9 tamb\u00e9m a cidade que acolhe o Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST).
