Le Fonds national de recherche (NRF)<\/a> du Kenya dirige l’\u00e9laboration du tout premier Plan directeur du pays pour le financement de la recherche.<\/p>\n\n

Le plan directeur constitue une \u00e9tape strat\u00e9gique vers la transformation du paysage de la recherche au Kenya.<\/p>\n\n

Soutenu par le gouvernement et des partenariats internationaux, le plan directeur vise \u00e0 aligner les investissements nationaux dans la recherche sur les priorit\u00e9s de d\u00e9veloppement du Kenya, en lib\u00e9rant tout le potentiel de la science, de la technologie et de l’innovation pour favoriser le progr\u00e8s.<\/p>\n\n

Au c\u0153ur de cette initiative se trouve l’engagement de la NRF \u00e0 construire un \u00e9cosyst\u00e8me de financement de la recherche transparent, pr\u00e9visible et efficace, qui permette aux chercheurs de trouver des solutions pratiques aux d\u00e9fis locaux et mondiaux.<\/p>\n\n

S’exprimant sur cette initiative, Dickson Andala, directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de la NRF, a r\u00e9affirm\u00e9 le mandat du Fonds, qui est de mobiliser, d’allouer et de g\u00e9rer des ressources dans tous les domaines de la recherche et de l’innovation.<\/p>\n\n

Il a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que le plan directeur s’appuie sur les objectifs strat\u00e9giques de la NRF et vise \u00e0 remodeler l’environnement de recherche pour permettre \u00e0 la connaissance et \u00e0 l’innovation de s’\u00e9panouir.<\/p>\n\n

Le processus d’\u00e9laboration du plan directeur s’est inspir\u00e9 d’institutions de premier plan et de divers acteurs du secteur priv\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n

Lors d’une r\u00e9union d’information organis\u00e9e le<\/a> 16 juillet, Shaukat Abdulrazak, secr\u00e9taire principal \u00e0 la science, \u00e0 la recherche et \u00e0 l’innovation, a salu\u00e9 les efforts de la NRF et r\u00e9it\u00e9r\u00e9 l’engagement du gouvernement \u00e0 promouvoir un programme de recherche plus inclusif et fond\u00e9 sur des donn\u00e9es probantes.<\/p>\n\n

\u00ab\u00a0Nous pouvons transformer le secteur de la recherche au Kenya\u00a0\u00bb, a-t-il d\u00e9clar\u00e9, en encourageant une collaboration plus \u00e9troite avec le secteur priv\u00e9 et d’autres parties prenantes.<\/p>\n\n

Selon M. Abdulrazak, les interactions avec le comit\u00e9 consultatif technique<\/a> ont mis en \u00e9vidence la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 d’int\u00e9grer la recherche dans des politiques de d\u00e9veloppement plus larges et de tirer parti des partenariats pour une croissance durable.<\/p>\n\n

Ratemo Michieka, pr\u00e9sident<\/a> du Conseil d’administration du NRF, a d\u00e9crit le Plan directeur comme \u00e9tant \u00e0 la fois opportun et n\u00e9cessaire. Il a soulign\u00e9 qu’un cadre national bien structur\u00e9 pour le financement de la recherche est essentiel, non seulement pour stimuler l’innovation, mais aussi pour garantir que la recherche contribue directement \u00e0 la transformation socio-\u00e9conomique du Kenya.<\/p>\n\n
