{"id":23516,"date":"2025-05-28T11:20:36","date_gmt":"2025-05-28T10:20:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sgciafrica.org\/la-solution-du-sable-pourrait-reduire-le-cout-de-lexploitation-miniere-au-botswana\/"},"modified":"2026-02-12T16:04:35","modified_gmt":"2026-02-12T16:04:35","slug":"la-solution-du-sable-pourrait-reduire-le-cout-de-lexploitation-miniere-au-botswana","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sgciafrica.org\/fr\/la-solution-du-sable-pourrait-reduire-le-cout-de-lexploitation-miniere-au-botswana\/","title":{"rendered":"Une solution \u00e0 base de sable pourrait r\u00e9duire les co\u00fbts miniers au Botswana"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>[MAUN, BOTSWANA] Des chercheurs au Botswana ont converti du sable ordinaire en produits chimiques miniers sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9s qui pourraient r\u00e9duire d\u2019un tiers les co\u00fbts op\u00e9rationnels miniers du pays tout en mettant fin \u00e0 sa d\u00e9pendance aux produits chimiques import\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n<p>Des scientifiques de la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biust.ac.bw\/\">Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST)<\/a> ont mis au point un compos\u00e9 chimique pour l\u2019extraction de min\u00e9raux \u00e0 partir de sable local \u2014 une innovation qui, selon eux, a d\u00e9j\u00e0 suscit\u00e9 l\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat de soci\u00e9t\u00e9s mini\u00e8res d\u00e9sireuses de tester l\u2019innovation en phase pilote.<\/p>\n\n<p>Actuellement, le Botswana importe 100 % de ses produits chimiques miniers de Chine, d\u2019Afrique du Sud et des \u00c9tats-Unis, cr\u00e9ant ainsi des d\u00e9pendances co\u00fbteuses et des vuln\u00e9rabilit\u00e9s dans la cha\u00eene d\u2019approvisionnement.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-from-sand-to-chemical\"><strong>Du sable au produit chimique<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>Le projet de trois ans, qui s\u2019est d\u00e9roul\u00e9 de 2021 \u00e0 2023, a \u00e9t\u00e9 financ\u00e9 par la Science Granting Councils Initiative et le minist\u00e8re de l\u2019Enseignement tertiaire, de la Recherche, de la Science et de la Technologie, en collaboration avec l\u2019universit\u00e9 d\u2019\u00c9tat des Midlands au Zimbabwe.<\/p>\n\n<p>Le chercheur principal Gwiranai Danha, professeur au d\u00e9partement de g\u00e9nie chimique, des mat\u00e9riaux et de la m\u00e9tallurgie de la BIUST, explique que le processus est similaire \u00e0 la fabrication de gel\u00e9e \u00e0 partir d\u2019un m\u00e9lange de sable et d\u2019un produit chimique \u00e9paississant.<\/p>\n\n<p>L\u2019\u00e9quipe utilise du sable local dans un processus appel\u00e9 synth\u00e8se sol-gel, o\u00f9 de minuscules particules sont transform\u00e9es en gel pour produire des substances chimiques qui extraient les m\u00e9taux pr\u00e9cieux des minerais.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u00ab Progressivement, ce liquide s\u2019\u00e9paissit et forme un mat\u00e9riau semblable \u00e0 un gel qui, une fois solidifi\u00e9, cr\u00e9e de minuscules particules appel\u00e9es nanoparticules \u00bb, a expliqu\u00e9 Danha.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u00ab Les nanoparticules sont ensuite modifi\u00e9es pour am\u00e9liorer leurs propri\u00e9t\u00e9s pour des applications sp\u00e9cifiques dans le traitement des min\u00e9raux. Le r\u00e9sultat est un mat\u00e9riau innovant et unique qui peut am\u00e9liorer consid\u00e9rablement l\u2019efficacit\u00e9 et la durabilit\u00e9 de l\u2019industrie mini\u00e8re au Botswana. \u00bb<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-environmental-benefits\"><strong>Avantages environnementaux<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>Les tests pr\u00e9liminaires montrent que les produits chimiques fabriqu\u00e9s localement offrent une meilleure efficacit\u00e9 de r\u00e9cup\u00e9ration des m\u00e9taux tout en r\u00e9duisant consid\u00e9rablement les \u00e9missions environnementales et en atteignant des rendements de r\u00e9cup\u00e9ration plus \u00e9lev\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n<p>Danha a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 qu\u2019il y a \u00ab une r\u00e9duction significative des \u00e9missions environnementales et des rendements de r\u00e9cup\u00e9ration plus \u00e9lev\u00e9s, ce qui se traduit directement par une rentabilit\u00e9 accrue \u00bb.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u00ab Le projet s\u2019attaque \u00e0 la d\u00e9gradation de l\u2019environnement en \u00e9liminant les d\u00e9chets dangereux, en r\u00e9duisant le lessivage chimique dans le sol et les masses d\u2019eau, en plus d\u2019am\u00e9liorer l\u2019efficacit\u00e9 des ressources et de r\u00e9duire le besoin de m\u00e9thodes d\u2019extraction agressives \u00bb, a-t-il d\u00e9clar\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n<p>Les avantages environnementaux s\u2019\u00e9tendent au-del\u00e0 de la r\u00e9duction des d\u00e9chets.
