{"id":23040,"date":"2024-10-31T15:53:39","date_gmt":"2024-10-31T15:53:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sgciafrica.org\/des-scientifiques-rwandais-decouvrent-des-arbres-a-fort-potentiel-energetique\/"},"modified":"2026-02-12T13:58:49","modified_gmt":"2026-02-12T13:58:49","slug":"des-scientifiques-rwandais-decouvrent-des-arbres-a-fort-potentiel-energetique","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sgciafrica.org\/fr\/des-scientifiques-rwandais-decouvrent-des-arbres-a-fort-potentiel-energetique\/","title":{"rendered":"Des scientifiques rwandais d\u00e9couvrent des arbres \u00e0 fort potentiel \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Des scientifiques rwandais ont d\u00e9couvert des arbres susceptibles de produire de l&rsquo;\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 propre.<\/p>\n\n<p>Les scientifiques de l&rsquo;Office des for\u00eats du Rwanda ont identifi\u00e9 deux esp\u00e8ces d&rsquo;arbres susceptibles de produire de l&rsquo;\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 propre et d&rsquo;alimenter ainsi les communaut\u00e9s isol\u00e9es.<\/p>\n\n<p>Le Rwanda s&rsquo;est fix\u00e9 pour objectif d&rsquo;atteindre un taux d&rsquo;acc\u00e8s \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 de 100 % d&rsquo;ici 2030, mais l&rsquo;acc\u00e8s \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 dans les zones rurales reste limit\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n<p>Pour y rem\u00e9dier, les chercheurs \u00e9tudient la possibilit\u00e9 de produire de l&rsquo;\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 \u00e0 partir de la biomasse v\u00e9g\u00e9tale cultiv\u00e9e de mani\u00e8re durable, en \u00e9valuant le potentiel \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique de diverses esp\u00e8ces d&rsquo;arbres.<\/p>\n\n<p>Bonaventure Ntirugulirwa, chercheur principal \u00e0 la t\u00eate de l&rsquo;initiative, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que la biomasse avait \u00e9t\u00e9 largement ignor\u00e9e, malgr\u00e9 son potentiel pour remplacer les combustibles fossiles conventionnels en tant qu&rsquo;alternative \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Ce projet a \u00e9t\u00e9 con\u00e7u pour r\u00e9pondre aux besoins en \u00e9lectricit\u00e9 des zones rurales\u00a0\u00bb, a-t-il d\u00e9clar\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n<p>Apr\u00e8s avoir \u00e9tudi\u00e9 le potentiel de biomasse d&rsquo;un certain nombre d&rsquo;arbres et d&rsquo;arbustes \u00e0 croissance rapide, les chercheurs ont identifi\u00e9 les esp\u00e8ces <em>Senna siamea<\/em> et <em>Gliricidia sepium<\/em> comme des candidats de choix pour la production d&rsquo;\u00e9lectricit\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n<p>La densit\u00e9 \u00e9lev\u00e9e du bois et le pouvoir calorifique de ces arbres signifient qu&rsquo;ils br\u00fblent efficacement, ce qui en fait des alternatives \u00e0 haute temp\u00e9rature aux combustibles fossiles.<\/p>\n\n<p>M. Ntirugulirwa explique que l&rsquo;objectif de la recherche n&rsquo;est pas seulement de trouver des arbres qui br\u00fblent efficacement, mais aussi de combler durablement les d\u00e9ficits \u00e9nerg\u00e9tiques dans les r\u00e9gions isol\u00e9es.<\/p>\n\n<p>La recherche, a-t-il d\u00e9clar\u00e9, \u00ab\u00a0contribuera \u00e0 la r\u00e9alisation de plusieurs objectifs, tels que la protection des terres, l&rsquo;am\u00e9lioration des sols, la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 alimentaire, l&rsquo;att\u00e9nuation du changement climatique et la r\u00e9duction de la pauvret\u00e9 rurale\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n<p>Les chercheurs ont explor\u00e9 le potentiel d&rsquo;esp\u00e8ces d&rsquo;arbres \u00e0 usages multiples telles que <em>Cajanus ca<\/em> jan (pois d&rsquo;Angole), <em>Calliandra calothyrsus<\/em>, <em>Hagenia abyssinica<\/em> (s\u00e9quoia africain) et <em>Senna spectabilis (s\u00e9n\u00e9 \u00e0 \u00e9corce blanche)<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n<p>Ces arbres ne fournissent pas seulement du combustible pour la production d&rsquo;\u00e9lectricit\u00e9, mais aussi des ressources pr\u00e9cieuses pour les agriculteurs et leurs communaut\u00e9s, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 M. Ntirugulirwa.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Les agriculteurs ont \u00e9t\u00e9 autoris\u00e9s \u00e0 tester un ensemble donn\u00e9 de pratiques sur leur exploitation et \u00e0 s\u00e9lectionner celles qui fonctionnent le mieux dans leurs conditions\u00a0\u00bb, a-t-il expliqu\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n<p>Les agriculteurs des diff\u00e9rentes r\u00e9gions ont identifi\u00e9 leurs esp\u00e8ces pr\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9es en fonction des conditions et des besoins locaux, a-t-il ajout\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n<p>Les esp\u00e8ces d&rsquo;arbres les plus prometteuses ayant \u00e9t\u00e9 identifi\u00e9es, les chercheurs affirment qu&rsquo;ils se concentrent d\u00e9sormais sur la production d&rsquo;\u00e9lectricit\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n<p>Pour ce faire, le projet s&rsquo;appuiera sur la participation active des agriculteurs afin de cultiver suffisamment de biomasse pour la production d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 M. Ntirugulirwa.<\/p>\n\n<p>Jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent, l&rsquo;\u00e9quipe a mesur\u00e9 le pouvoir calorifique de la biomasse \u00e0 l&rsquo;Office rwandais de normalisation. Toutefois, les tests portant sur d&rsquo;autres \u00e9l\u00e9ments cl\u00e9s tels que le carbone et l&rsquo;hydrog\u00e8ne devront \u00eatre effectu\u00e9s en Su\u00e8de, car le Rwanda ne dispose pas de l&rsquo;\u00e9quipement sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9 n\u00e9cessaire. <\/p>\n\n<p>Babatunde Ajayi, professeur de technologie des produits du bois et des bio-ressources \u00e0 l&rsquo;universit\u00e9 f\u00e9d\u00e9rale de technologie d&rsquo;Akure, au Nigeria, a salu\u00e9 l&rsquo;approche du projet, notamment en ce qui concerne la lutte contre les p\u00e9nuries alimentaires, la pauvret\u00e9 et les coupures d&rsquo;\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 dans les zones rurales.  <\/p>\n\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0C&rsquo;est une bonne chose que l&rsquo;initiative permette de r\u00e9soudre ces probl\u00e8mes\u00a0\u00bb, a-t-il d\u00e9clar\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0L&rsquo;utilisation de la biomasse pour produire de l&rsquo;\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 est une id\u00e9e int\u00e9ressante, en particulier dans les zones rurales o\u00f9 l&rsquo;acc\u00e8s \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 est extr\u00eamement faible\u00a0\u00bb, a ajout\u00e9 M. Ajayi.<\/p>\n\n<p>Il a compar\u00e9 ce processus \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9nergie solaire, qui utilise la lumi\u00e8re du soleil pour produire de l&rsquo;\u00e9lectricit\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Une fois la biomasse introduite dans une machine, celle-ci la convertit en \u00e9nergie \u00e9lectrique\u00a0\u00bb, a expliqu\u00e9 M.
