{"id":23031,"date":"2025-03-28T16:33:09","date_gmt":"2025-03-28T16:33:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sgciafrica.org\/le-projet-alimentaire-namibien-vise-les-cultures-riches-en-proteines\/"},"modified":"2026-02-12T15:53:34","modified_gmt":"2026-02-12T15:53:34","slug":"le-projet-alimentaire-namibien-vise-les-cultures-riches-en-proteines","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sgciafrica.org\/fr\/le-projet-alimentaire-namibien-vise-les-cultures-riches-en-proteines\/","title":{"rendered":"Le projet alimentaire namibien vise les cultures riches en prot\u00e9ines"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>[NAMIBIE] Le manque de prot\u00e9ines est l&rsquo;un des principaux facteurs de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scidev.net\/global\/health\/nutrition\/\">malnutrition<\/a> dans les pays \u00e0 revenu faible et interm\u00e9diaire, o\u00f9 le r\u00e9gime alimentaire de nombreuses personnes d\u00e9pend fortement des cultures de base.<\/p>\n\n<p>Pour s&rsquo;attaquer \u00e0 ce probl\u00e8me en Namibie, les chercheurs ont lanc\u00e9 un projet alimentaire et nutritionnel visant \u00e0 former les agriculteurs \u00e0 l&rsquo;utilisation d&rsquo;un biofertilisant pour produire des l\u00e9gumineuses enrichies en prot\u00e9ines.<\/p>\n\n<p>Le projet, dirig\u00e9 par des chercheurs de l&rsquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nust.na\/\">Universit\u00e9 des sciences et technologies de Namibie<\/a>, initie les petits <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scidev.net\/global\/agriculture\/farming\/\">exploitants agricoles<\/a> de la communaut\u00e9 de Mayana, dans la r\u00e9gion de Kavango Est, aux techniques de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scidev.net\/global\/enterprise\/biotechnology\/\">biotechnologie<\/a>, dans le but de relever les d\u00e9fis cruciaux en mati\u00e8re de productivit\u00e9 agricole et de nutrition.<\/p>\n\n<p>Natilia Rengi, une agricultrice de la communaut\u00e9, avait autrefois du mal \u00e0 produire suffisamment de nourriture pour sa famille de 12 personnes, mais elle a vu ses rendements augmenter depuis qu&rsquo;elle a adopt\u00e9 le biofertilisant.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Nous n&rsquo;avions pas l&rsquo;habitude de cultiver autant\u00a0\u00bb, dit-elle.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Mais je peux dire avec fiert\u00e9 que nous r\u00e9coltons suffisamment pour nourrir notre famille.<\/p>\n\n<p>Pour Rengi, le projet fait la diff\u00e9rence entre lutter pour subvenir aux besoins de sa famille nombreuse et leur donner des repas nutritifs.<\/p>\n\n<p>Son histoire est l&rsquo;une des nombreuses histoires de la r\u00e9gion, o\u00f9 les agriculteurs constatent une am\u00e9lioration de leur production alimentaire et de leurs moyens de subsistance gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 cette initiative, financ\u00e9e par l&rsquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/sgciafrica.org\/fr\/\">Initiative des Conseils subventionnaires de la science<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<p>Selon Oswald Mughongora, charg\u00e9 de programme principal pour la gestion des subventions \u00e0 la Commission nationale namibienne pour la recherche, la science et la technologie, le programme s&rsquo;aligne sur les objectifs plus larges du pays en mati\u00e8re d&rsquo;agriculture intelligente face au climat et d&rsquo;int\u00e9gration des connaissances indig\u00e8nes.<\/p>\n\n<p>Le projet, baptis\u00e9 Food Security and Nutrition Improvement through Protein-Rich Legume and Low-Cost Biotechnology in Namibia (FOODSECBIO), a d\u00e9marr\u00e9 en 2021 et devrait s&rsquo;achever en juillet 2025.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-five-biofertilisers\"><strong>Cinq biofertilisants<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0L&rsquo;un des principaux r\u00e9sultats de cette initiative est la mise au point d&rsquo;un biofertilisant produit localement\u00a0\u00bb, explique M. Mughongora.<\/p>\n\n<p>Selon lui, le projet contribue \u00e0 r\u00e9soudre les probl\u00e8mes de fertilit\u00e9 des sols, de malnutrition et de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scidev.net\/global\/agriculture\/food-security\/\">s\u00e9curit\u00e9 alimentaire<\/a> en Namibie.<\/p>\n\n<p>Percy Chimwamurombe, chercheur principal du projet \u00e0 l&rsquo;universit\u00e9 des sciences et technologies de Namibie, explique que son \u00e9quipe a mis au point cinq biofertilisants. Ils ont commenc\u00e9 par identifier les bact\u00e9ries les plus aptes \u00e0 favoriser la croissance. <\/p>\n\n<p>Les chercheurs ont isol\u00e9 des bact\u00e9ries dans l&rsquo;environnement p\u00e9dologique des l\u00e9gumineuses et ont s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9 en laboratoire les bact\u00e9ries pr\u00e9sentant des caract\u00e9ristiques favorisant la croissance des plantes.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Nous nous sommes surtout int\u00e9ress\u00e9s \u00e0 leur capacit\u00e9 de fixation de l&rsquo;azote\u00a0\u00bb, explique Chimwamurombe.<\/p>\n\n<p>Une trentaine d&rsquo;agriculteurs ont d\u00e9j\u00e0 re\u00e7u une formation sur l&rsquo;utilisation des biofertilisants. Les agriculteurs ont \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 form\u00e9s aux m\u00e9thodes de production de ni\u00e9b\u00e9, de millet perl\u00e9 et de noix de bambara, qui sont tous riches en prot\u00e9ines, et \u00e0 la production de farines de millet perl\u00e9 enrichies en prot\u00e9ines pour l&rsquo;alimentation des nourrissons. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-effective-farming\"><strong>Une agriculture efficace<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>Sofia Kamburu, une agricultrice de 34 ans, explique qu&rsquo;elle a \u00e9tendu ses cultures aux haricots, au millet perl\u00e9, aux arachides et aux noix de bambara.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"393\" height=\"700\" src=\"https:\/\/sgciafrica.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/March28Outcome_of_the_fields_after_the_biofertilser_test_BODY.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-22897\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sgciafrica.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/March28Outcome_of_the_fields_after_the_biofertilser_test_BODY.jpg 393w, https:\/\/sgciafrica.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/March28Outcome_of_the_fields_after_the_biofertilser_test_BODY-168x300.jpg 168w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 393px) 100vw, 393px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>R\u00e9sultat des champs apr\u00e8s le test du biofertilisant.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Nous avons appris \u00e0 planifier et \u00e0 planter en fonction des saisons\u00a0\u00bb, explique-t-elle.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Dans le pass\u00e9, nous comptions sur les bonnes pluies de novembre et d\u00e9cembre, mais cette ann\u00e9e, nous avons pr\u00e9par\u00e9 nos champs avant la saison des pluies, en attendant les pluies de janvier pour une meilleure germination.<\/p>\n\n<p>Elle ajoute que l&rsquo;adoption de biofertilisants et de techniques am\u00e9lior\u00e9es de pr\u00e9paration du sol a renforc\u00e9 ses connaissances en mati\u00e8re d&rsquo;agriculture.<\/p>\n\n<p>Alta Ngoma, 30 ans, \u00e9tait au ch\u00f4mage depuis trois ans lorsqu&rsquo;elle a acquis de nouvelles comp\u00e9tences en mati\u00e8re de r\u00e9colte gr\u00e2ce au projet. Elle esp\u00e8re maintenant pouvoir cultiver son propre champ \u00e0 l&rsquo;avenir. <\/p>\n\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Ce projet a compl\u00e8tement chang\u00e9 ma vie\u00a0\u00bb, d\u00e9clare M. Ngoma.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Auparavant, je n&rsquo;avais ni revenu ni exp\u00e9rience. Nous avions souvent du mal \u00e0 acheter des farines de ma\u00efs, qui co\u00fbtent environ 150 dollars namibiens [8,3 dollars am\u00e9ricains] pour un sac de dix kilos. <\/p>\n\n<p>Depuis le mois d&rsquo;octobre, Mme Ngoma gagne un revenu, ce qui lui permet de payer les frais de scolarit\u00e9 de son enfant.<\/p>\n\n<p>Une autre agricultrice, Apolionia Kavahu, d\u00e9clare : \u00ab\u00a0Nous avons appris \u00e0 cultiver efficacement. Je doutais autrefois que l&rsquo;on puisse vivre de l&rsquo;agriculture, mais maintenant nous pouvons aussi enseigner \u00e0 nos enfants comment mieux le faire \u00e0 l&rsquo;avenir.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-child-malnutrition\"><strong>Malnutrition infantile<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>M.
