{"id":21110,"date":"2024-07-02T11:08:42","date_gmt":"2024-07-02T10:08:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sgciafrica.org\/les-plantes-indigenes-soutiennent-la-nutrition-en-afrique-australe\/"},"modified":"2026-02-12T13:32:34","modified_gmt":"2026-02-12T13:32:34","slug":"les-plantes-indigenes-soutiennent-la-nutrition-en-afrique-australe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sgciafrica.org\/fr\/les-plantes-indigenes-soutiennent-la-nutrition-en-afrique-australe\/","title":{"rendered":"Les plantes indig\u00e8nes soutiennent la nutrition en Afrique australe"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Selon des chercheurs, des recettes alimentaires \u00e9labor\u00e9es \u00e0 partir de plantes indig\u00e8nes et adapt\u00e9es aux climats locaux pourraient am\u00e9liorer la nutrition et att\u00e9nuer les p\u00e9nuries alimentaires dans les m\u00e9nages ruraux d&rsquo;Afrique subsaharienne.<\/p>\n\n<p>Les chercheurs africains ont cr\u00e9\u00e9 des produits &#8211; notamment des confitures, des jus, des sirops, des yaourts et des soupes instantan\u00e9es &#8211; \u00e0 partir de plantes telles que l&rsquo;oranger sauvage, le n\u00e9flier sauvage, l&rsquo;amarante, le baobab, l&rsquo;hibiscus et l&rsquo;arbre \u00e0 violettes.<\/p>\n\n<p>Leurs recettes visent \u00e0 rem\u00e9dier aux carences en micronutriments dans la r\u00e9gion et \u00e0 r\u00e9duire les pertes apr\u00e8s r\u00e9colte des fruits et l\u00e9gumes indig\u00e8nes, expliquent les chercheurs de l&rsquo;universit\u00e9 de Namibie et de l&rsquo;institut de recherche agricole du Mozambique.<\/p>\n\n<p>Penny Hiwilepo-van Hal, coauteur du projet et directrice du d\u00e9partement des sciences et syst\u00e8mes alimentaires de l&rsquo;universit\u00e9 de Namibie, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que depuis 2020, l&rsquo;\u00e9quipe a transform\u00e9, augment\u00e9 et commercialis\u00e9 des produits alimentaires d\u00e9riv\u00e9s de fruits et de plantes sous-utilis\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u00ab Le [projet] vise \u00e0 fournir les bases techniques et commerciales n\u00e9cessaires \u00e0 une mise \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle gr\u00e2ce au d\u00e9veloppement de cha\u00eenes de valeur durables et \u00e0 la commercialisation r\u00e9ussie de ces produits \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Mme Hiwilepo-van Hal.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Nous visons \u00e0 r\u00e9soudre les probl\u00e8mes li\u00e9s \u00e0 l&rsquo;insuffisance des donn\u00e9es scientifiques et techniques afin d&rsquo;\u00e9tablir et de d\u00e9velopper des cha\u00eenes de valeur durables pour l&rsquo;utilisation des fruits et l\u00e9gumes indig\u00e8nes et d&rsquo;en promouvoir la commercialisation\u00a0\u00bb, a-t-elle expliqu\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n<p>La recherche a \u00e9t\u00e9 financ\u00e9e par la Science Granting Councils Initiative (SGCI) et coordonn\u00e9e par les Science Granting Councils de Namibie et du Mozambique &#8211; la Commission nationale namibienne pour la recherche, la science et la technologie et le Fonds national de recherche du Mozambique.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"996\" height=\"326\" src=\"https:\/\/sgciafrica.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Jam-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6452\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sgciafrica.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Jam-1.jpg 996w, https:\/\/sgciafrica.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Jam-1-300x98.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sgciafrica.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Jam-1-768x251.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 996px) 100vw, 996px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<p>Chinemba Samundengu, co-chercheur et ma\u00eetre de conf\u00e9rences au d\u00e9partement des sciences et technologies alimentaires de l&rsquo;universit\u00e9 de Namibie, estime que le d\u00e9veloppement de produits alimentaires indig\u00e8nes peut contribuer \u00e0 populariser des aliments sous-utilis\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0L&rsquo;utilisation accrue de ces fruits et l\u00e9gumes indig\u00e8nes par le d\u00e9veloppement de produits peut entra\u00eener une augmentation de la demande et de l&rsquo;acc\u00e8s au march\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 M. Samundengu.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Cela servirait de motivation pour d\u00e9velopper les cha\u00eenes de valeur \u00e0 partir de ces esp\u00e8ces indig\u00e8nes.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-health-climate-benefits\"><strong>Avantages pour la sant\u00e9 et le climat<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>Hiwilepo-van Hal a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que l&rsquo;\u00e9quipe de recherche avait cibl\u00e9 des esp\u00e8ces v\u00e9g\u00e9tales pr\u00e9sentant des avantages sp\u00e9cifiques pour la sant\u00e9, notamment celles qui \u00ab\u00a0renforcent l&rsquo;immunit\u00e9, r\u00e9duisent le risque de carences en micronutriments, d&rsquo;infertilit\u00e9 et de cancers\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u00ab [Pour] l\u2019arbre \u00e0 violettes<em>, <\/em>les feuilles pourraient \u00eatre utilis\u00e9es dans la nutrition humaine pour r\u00e9duire les carences en h\u00e9moglobine et l\u2019infertilit\u00e9, tout en inhibant le d\u00e9veloppement de maladies chroniques gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l\u2019effet des antioxydants v\u00e9g\u00e9taux \u00bb, a-t-elle expliqu\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n<p>Les tests pr\u00e9liminaires de cytotoxicit\u00e9 \u2013 qui montrent l\u2019\u00e9tendue des dommages qu\u2019une substance peut causer aux cellules \u2013 ont indiqu\u00e9 qu\u2019\u00e0 des concentrations \u00e9lev\u00e9es, les extraits de feuille de violette pourraient potentiellement \u00eatre utilis\u00e9s contre des cellules humaines telles que les cellules canc\u00e9reuses, [mais] des analyses phytochimiques et de cytotoxicit\u00e9 plus d\u00e9taill\u00e9es sont n\u00e9cessaires, a ajout\u00e9 la chercheuse.<\/p>\n\n<p>Elle pense \u00e9galement que la promotion et l&rsquo;adoption de plantes et de fruits indig\u00e8nes nutritifs contribueront au d\u00e9veloppement de syst\u00e8mes alimentaires r\u00e9sistants au climat.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Cela permettra d&rsquo;assurer un acc\u00e8s durable \u00e0 des micronutriments abordables pour les m\u00e9nages ruraux vuln\u00e9rables\u00a0\u00bb, a-t-elle ajout\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Les variations actuelles des r\u00e9gimes climatiques se sont r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9es tr\u00e8s perturbatrices pour les syst\u00e8mes alimentaires en Afrique et ont eu un impact consid\u00e9rable sur la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 alimentaire.<\/p>\n\n<p>Daniel Otaye, professeur associ\u00e9 au d\u00e9partement des sciences biologiques de l\u2019universit\u00e9 d\u2019Egerton au Kenya, estime que la recherche est prometteuse, mais que d\u2019autres \u00e9tudes doivent \u00eatre men\u00e9es sur la durabilit\u00e9 et la commercialisation \u00e0 grande \u00e9chelle des produits issus de plantes indig\u00e8nes.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0L&rsquo;Afrique est confront\u00e9e \u00e0 de nombreux d\u00e9fis, notamment le changement climatique et la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 alimentaire.
