Imasike \u00e0 <em>SciDev.Net<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0L&rsquo;eau est la principale source d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l&rsquo;hydro\u00e9lectricit\u00e9, qui est le moteur de l&rsquo;\u00e9conomie zambienne.<\/p>\n\n<p>Selon M. Imasike, l&rsquo;initiative vise \u00e0 mieux comprendre la qualit\u00e9 et la disponibilit\u00e9 de l&rsquo;eau et \u00e0 utiliser ces connaissances pour trouver des solutions \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9limination des d\u00e9chets miniers. Il se concentrera sur la gestion de l&rsquo;eau, de l&rsquo;\u00e9nergie, de l&rsquo;alimentation et de l&rsquo;environnement dans son ensemble.<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-image uagb-block-4e3844de wp-block-uagb-image--layout-default wp-block-uagb-image--effect-static wp-block-uagb-image--align-none is-style-rounded\"><figure class=\"wp-block-uagb-image__figure\"><img decoding=\"async\"  sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 150px\" src=\"https:\/\/sgciafrica.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/Luapula_MAIN.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"996\" height=\"567\" title=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" role=\"img\"><\/figure><\/div>\n\n<p>Un rapport complet sera produit pour le gouvernement zambien sur la possibilit\u00e9 d&rsquo;un transfert entre les bassins des rivi\u00e8res Luapula et Kafue, mettant fin \u00e0 un d\u00e9bat en cours pour ou contre le transfert d&rsquo;eau d&rsquo;un bassin \u00e0 l&rsquo;autre.<\/p>\n\n<p>Le transfert entre bassins est le processus de transfert d&rsquo;eau d&rsquo;un bassin \u00e0 un autre afin d&rsquo;am\u00e9liorer la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 de l&rsquo;eau dans les r\u00e9gions souffrant de p\u00e9nurie d&rsquo;eau.<\/p>\n\n<p>Selon M. Imasike, le projet garantira un approvisionnement en eau fiable pour les g\u00e9n\u00e9rations futures, r\u00e9pondant ainsi aux pr\u00e9occupations concernant la disponibilit\u00e9 de l&rsquo;eau.<\/p>\n\n<p>Le projet de recherche sur la conservation de l\u2019eau a d\u00e9but\u00e9 en octobre 2020 dans le cadre de l\u2019Initiative africaine de recherche O.R Tambo (ORTARChi), qui donne aux jeunes sp\u00e9cialistes africains de l\u2019eau les moyens d\u2019agir en fournissant des \u00e9quipements de recherche et en renfor\u00e7ant les comp\u00e9tences techniques. Cela leur a permis de d\u00e9velopper des solutions, telles que l\u2019utilisation de bact\u00e9ries pour nettoyer les d\u00e9chets issus de l\u2019exploitation mini\u00e8re dans la r\u00e9gion zambienne de Copperbelt. <\/p>\n\n<p>ORTARChi est mis en \u0153uvre par la Fondation nationale de la recherche d&rsquo;Afrique du Sud et l&rsquo;Initiative des conseils scientifiques (SGCI).<\/p>\n\n<p>Lanc\u00e9 en 2015, le SGCI soutient 16 agences scientifiques d&rsquo;Afrique subsaharienne, en leur donnant les moyens de financer la recherche et de stimuler le d\u00e9veloppement \u00e0 l&rsquo;aide de donn\u00e9es et de politiques solides.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Ce projet de recherche sur la conservation de l&rsquo;eau contribue d\u00e9j\u00e0 aux connaissances sur la disponibilit\u00e9 de l&rsquo;approvisionnement en eau et de l&rsquo;assainissement, la production d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie hydro\u00e9lectrique, la lutte contre les inondations et la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 alimentaire, en particulier dans le contexte du changement et de la variabilit\u00e9 climatiques\u00a0\u00bb, explique M.
