Science Forum South Africa 2018

The SFSA2018 will again be hosted at the CSIR International Convention Centre and the National Research Foundation in Pretoria on 13-14 December 2018.

The opening and high-level panel discussion will take place at Rembrandt Hall, University of Pretoria Hillcrest Campus, Sports Campus, on 12 December 2018 between 13h00-17h00.

Positioning SFSA2018
"The SFSA provides a public platform for debating science and society. The intention is to ''Ignite Conversations About Science".

"The core mission and objective of the SFSA is to have a vibrant debate on the role of science in society; not confining the discussion to a closed community but making it accessible to everyone with an interest in what role science should play in society."

"This year, we have partnered with the African Academy of Sciences (AAS) which recognises eminent scientists from across Africa. The AAS will hold its General Assembly in South Africa two days before SFSA2018, which will further boost the number of African scientists and researchers participating in this year's event."

The Programme
The world-class programme is brimming with 2 compelling plenary panel discussions, 49 parallel panel discussions, and 44 science talks. Just over 350 speakers, including 130 international speakers, will be participating in the programme. We're especially proud of the PAN-African focus, with more than 80 speakers coming from the rest of Africa. For the first time we'll feature more than 20 e-posters.

The SFSA2018 programme is now available online at www.sfsa.co.za Included on the website is further information about the sessions and talks, including information on the speakers.
